Biography

David Main returned to his alma mater in 2006 to serve as director of the Office of Career and Professional Development, bringing to the position a wealth of experience as an attorney and corporate executive. Over a 30-year career, Main worked in the private, public, and corporate settings as a patent law associate, a deputy prosecutor/private practitioner, and finally as corporate counsel and vice president of human resources for a Fortune 500 company. He previously served as a career counselor and discussion leader at IU's Kelley School of Business undergraduate career services office.

David Main

Main specializes in counseling students regarding all aspects of career planning and strategies. He also supervises students participating in the Criminal Law Externship (B545), the Independent Clincial Project (B710), the Private Practice Externship (B514), and the Public Interest Externship (B547). He works directly with employers and potential employers of Indiana Law graduates to strengthen the School's professional relationships, and is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, and the Monroe County Bar Association.
