Biography

Caroline Dowd-Higgins joined the School of Law as director of the Office of Career and Professional Development after several years with the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences. Formerly, the associate director of the Career Development Center and the academic advisor and communications specialist for the Department of Religious Studies, she has been providing career coaching and professional development for IU students in a variety of academic disciplines since 2000.

Caroline Dowd-Higgins

She specializes in building professional relationships and has enticed a multitude of new employers to recruit IU students in a broad spectrum of career fields. An experienced and engaging public speaker, Dowd-Higgins also provides outreach and professional development workshops to IU students, staff, and alumni.

An Indiana University Jacobs School of Music alumna, Dowd-Higgins returned to IU after an international career in the performing arts which makes her keenly aware of the importance of transferable skills. She is especially interested in teaching career-bound students the importance of professional poise and communication. She has a passion for employer and alumni development and enjoys working with law students to empower them to be prepared for the competitive job market.
