Hundreds of university leaders, students, and alumni are expected to be on hand Friday (Sept. 25) for the official naming of the Indiana University Michael Maurer School of Law. The ceremony will coincide with the Law School's second annual Alumni Summit and celebrate a $35 million gift from Michael and Janie Maurer the Law School received last December.

Five alumni from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law were inducted Friday (April 17) into the School's Academy of Law Alumni Fellows. Two other alumni were awarded President's Medals from the IU Foundation. Induction into the ALAF is the highest honor the Law School bestows upon its graduates, in recognition of personal achievements and dedication to the highest standards of the legal profession.

A $2 million gift from Indiana University School of Law--Bloomington alumnus Bill Hunt and his wife Nancy will be used to provide scholarship funds for students working toward a law degree at Indiana Law.

Bloomington has set new records in fundraising. Both its capital campaign (Matching the Promise) and its annual fund (Fund for Excellence) have surpassed their targets and, with tremendous support from alumni and friends, are still growing.

Indiana University President Michael McRobbie announced today (Dec. 12) that Lilly Endowment is giving the IU Foundation two major gifts, totaling $69 million, to secure the international standing of the IU Jacobs School of Music, provide its world-class music faculty and students with a state-of-the-art studio facility and propel the IU School of Law-Bloomington to the upper echelon of public university law schools.

Two Indiana University alumni are infusing their entrepreneurial successes into a two-year-old J.D./M.B.A. clinical program at IU and have made a $3 million gift to the IU School of Law-Bloomington to fund scholarships for Entrepreneurship Law Clinic students, joint J.D./M.B.A. candidates and students demonstrating a strong interest in business law.
